Fouqia Wajid

Fouqia is a senior media professional, poet, screenwriter, podcaster, editor of international anthologies, and producer of audio-visual content. She has experience in creative development and execution of television and web series, podcast, long and short-form content. Having completed Masters in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi, Fouqia has worked as a writer and executive producer for Colors Kannada in Bangalore and for Viacom 18 Film Studios in Mumbai. She has written and directed plays for Doordarshan called ‘Ghar Ke Na Ghat Ke’ and ‘Jaago’, and is the author of a collection of self-composed poems ‘Screech’ which was published at the age of 16. By 19, she founded an NGO called ‘On Fire’ which provides a platform for poets to publish their works alongside the best in the industry. Her poems and short stories have been featured in multiple international anthologies, and she also has a few Hindi/Urdu short stories to her credit. Fouqia organized nationwide ‘The Great Indian Poetry Contest’ in 2018, and the resultant anthology of poems and illustrations ‘Aatish 2’ has been published.
